Tree Day

To all Annual Campers,

With the summer coming to an end it is time for each of you to take a good look around your lakelot and see if there are any trees that are in danger of falling and damaging your RV, cabin or other personal items at the lake.  If you see any trees that you are concerned about, then please let me know.  Even if the tree is not actually on your lot, if it is threatening your personal property then it needs to be looked at and maybe added to the list of danger trees.

Our general rule is that people should flag the trees in question with a ribbon or tape (please do not permanently mark or cut the tree yet).  Then they should tell me when this is done, so we can inspect it and the surrounding area.  We will confirm that the tree really does need to be removed as well as figure out who needs to be notified about it.

I will then get back to you with what we think can be done.  Instead of adding the tree to the list, we may just drop the tree for you, or even give you permission to remove the tree yourself (if you are willing and able).  If the list is big enough then we will have a tree faller come out to the Resort and everyone involved will then share in the cost based on the amount of time spent on each tree.  Since there is only one day of travel time, it is much cheaper.

Please remember, you do not have permission to fall any trees within the Resort without first speaking with me and letting us inspect the tree in question.  Even if you do receive permission, the day of the work must be scheduled with me.  I suggest that you also inform your immediate neighbors so that they don’t get surprized when it crashes to the ground.

Note, if you are really worried about the tree falling anytime soon, you can put your RV in our storage area right away so it will be safe until it is brought down.

If you see a tree that you are concerned about, please let me know as soon as possible so we can start talking about it.

See you at the Lake,

Curtis
