1960’s Party
TO: ALL FAWCETT LAKE ANNUALS As discussed in our annual meeting we are throwing a 1960s party on our lot #186, everyone including children are welcome Please dress up in 1960s style. This is a Pot Luck supper everyone with the last name starting with A-M bring a salad or vegetable and N-Z bring a dessert. Everyone also bring Main Course (Meat) and BYOB. Canada Day Parade and Events
Throughout the ResortCalling all Canadians…Come out and help us celebrate Canada day by participating in the awesome events we have planned. There will be a parade, kids games including a water balloon toss and a scavenger hunt and even a face painting booth. For the adults we are having a 50/50 draw as well and a kissing booth….Just kidding about the kissing. Click here for the parade registration form detailing the route and times and registration fees. Canada Day Fireworks
The FLR Community Association is pleased to announce that there will be fireworks once again for Canada Day. The show will begin just after dark on the night of June 30, at the swimming beach. Special thanks to Jamie Black of lot 37 for taking care of shopping for everything and then setting them off that night. There is a coffee pot at the store for donations towards helping to pay for the show. Please give generously. To avoid traffic congestion, there will be no vehicle or quad access to the area that night. Please walk to the beach to see
Annual Meeting 2014
There will be an Annual Meeting held Sunday, May 18 at 1.00pm at the community building. Everyone is welcome, including those who do not yet have a lot at the Resort. If you have any topics or events that you would like to see discussed at the meeting, or if you would like to help out in any way, please contact the Campers Association at events@fawcettlakeresort.com.
Community Garage Sale
GOT JUNK... One man junk is another's mans treasure. We are having a resort wide garage sale on June 21st from 10am to 2pm. Anything goes...crafts, furniture, tools, clothes, kids toys, etc ....Your stuff...your cash. If you would like to sell some items at the garage sale then simply put a table near the road at your lot and add some balloons. You will be responsible for disposing of your items that do not sell. The council will be selling 50/50 tickets at various locations around the resort. The draw for the 50/50 will be at the store at 2:30. Proceeds will
Annual Meeting 2015
As with every year there will be an meeting of all Annual Campers on the Sunday of the May long weekend, just outside the main community building (the store). Everyone is invited to come listen to what is going on at the Resort this summer, and to participate in planning the events. Bring your family, some lawn chairs, and also bring any ideas or topics that you would like to have discussed this year. If you have a big issue, please get it put on the agenda ahead of time by sending a message toevents@fawcettlakeresort.com.
A Conversation with a Fisheries Biologist
Store Community BuildingWith recent changes in the fishing regulations, many people are wondering how the fish population is doing in Fawcett Lake. Myles Brown, B.Sc., P.Biol, a Senior Fisheries Biologist with the Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development office in Slave Lake will be visiting the Resort on June 6, 2015 (tentative). He will be making a presentation about the fish population in the lake and how they intend to preserve it. Afterwards, he will be willing to answer any questions you may have. This meeting will take place inside the Store Community Building, and is expected to last about 2 hours.
