We are proud to announce a new page on our website that tells the history of Fawcett Lake Resort. It talks about the East Lake Trading Post that existed prior to 1919 and continues past the 350 site campground of the 1980s. It includes a picture of the Old Log Cabin built in the 1940s as well as details about drifting sawdust, prisoners of war, a floating island, and a tugboat named “Edith”.
There is a new sign on the Gazebo near the Nature Preserve that tells a bit of the story, but the full history can be found in the section called “The Tackle Box”, at the bottom right of the home page.
We hope you enjoy reading the stories passed down through the generations.
