2026 Newsletter

I am sure we are all hoping that summer weather is maybe here to stay for a while now finally.  With all of the freezing and thawing this winter, I find myself looking forward to spending time on the beach in some real summer sunshine.

Back in 1979 when I was still a kid, my family first started coming to the Resort.  It is not very often when I come across someone who has a history at the lake that is longer than mine.  There are a few current Annual Campers who do remember some things from before then, but most of them had a period in their life when summers were spent elsewhere.  This year, I am very proud to boast of two lots with current Annual Campers who have been coming to the lake for over Fifty Consecutive Years.  Throughout the summer, please join me in thanking each of Linda of lot 215 and Bob of lot 199 for helping to build our community at Fawcett Lake Resort.  The Albach family is thankful to these individuals for their continued faith in us.

The logging work that was done near the Resort over the winter is now complete and the Resort is quiet again.  No more trees are to be removed and no more heavy equipment will be regularly operated in the area.  The temporary roads are now all reclaimed back to nature and sometime next winter the brush piles of waste wood will be burned.  I hope to get some notice of when these fires will be lit, so I can pass it on to you in advance. There is uncut firewood available from this logging activity that is scattered throughout the area.  They say that anyone is welcome to come get it anytime.

I have been asked to pass on a few messages to everyone this year:

  • Our local wildlife officers want everyone to remember that that the lake is a fragile ecosystem, and not a place to dump your garbage when you are in the boat.  DRIVING AN ATV INTO THE WATER IS NOT ACCEPTABLE unless you are using it to launch your boat.  Also, always wash your quad someplace that is far from shore so that the oily runoff doesn’t find its way into the lake.
  • Years ago we stopped allowing short periods camping at the Resort.  I am sure that everyone realizes how all Annual Campers now benefit because people no longer come for “just a weekend”, unless they are someone’s guest and paying the guest fees to the Campers Club.  Be aware that it is a breach of your lease agreement to sublease your lot and charge someone else to use it.  Nobody wants to have a hotel room next door, so please respect your neighbors by only using your lot personally as you agreed to do when you first came to the lake.
  • Jim the water guy has asked me to remind you, everything that goes into your septic tank must be something that his pump can take out.  These tanks are only meant for the “Three P’s, and this does not mean pop cans, pebbles, or those persistent wipes.  Note that there are price increases for his services this season.  Please contact him for more details.
  • Our Facebook Coordinator, Jason, is asking for a better defined guideline on how to manage the Campers Club group.  He gets A LOT of requests to join the group from people who are not an Annual Camper, and refuses many who obviously just want someplace to advertise.  However, he is now wondering if the group should be open to people from Broken Paddle or Anchor Inn, or even to former Annual Campers.  We can discuss this more at the Annual Meeting and hopefully make a decision.

If you have a personal item that you do not want to keep on your lot, there are two other places at the Resort where you may be able to store them.  Large bulky items may be allowed in the Storage Yard, and shoreline items may be allowed at the Private Dock area.  Please always talk with Resort Management before storing an item in either of these areas and make sure that each item is labeled with your lot number, including docks and boat lifts.  Last summer, I was asked a few times about items that seem to be placed in these areas inappropriately, making it difficult for others.  Remember that these areas are only for items which are used regularly at the lake, and to make sure that their placement does not prevent other from using the area too.

You may have noticed that it has now been two years in a row with over 5% of the lots at the lake being vacant.  In response to this, we have begun a new spring marketing campaign that will help remind people about the Resort and encourage them to consider getting a lakelot.  There are advertisements in some magazines (including the fishing regulations), as well as several commercials on a couple of radio stations.  Hopefully, this will help us find 15 more families to join our community.  If you would like to see and hear these advertisements, they are available in the Available Lots section of the Resort website.  As always, we appreciate any referrals we get, so please tell your family and friends how much you like being at the lake, and make sure they mention your name if they decide to contact me.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Meeting this year.  It is always an interesting event to attend.  It will be held on Sunday May 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm, in the parking lot by the Store Community Building.

See you at the Lake
