SUMMARY:A Conversation with a Fisheries Biologist
DESCRIPTION:With recent changes in the fishing regulations\, many people are wondering how the fish population is doing in Fawcett Lake.  Myles Brown\, B.Sc.\, P.Biol\, a Senior Fisheries Biologist with the Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development office in Slave Lake will be visiting the Resort on June 6\, 2015 (tentative).  He will be making a presentation about the fish population in the lake and how they intend to preserve it.  Afterwards\, he will be willing to answer any questions you may have.  This meeting will take place inside the Store Community Building\, and is expected to last about 2 hours.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

DESCRIPTION:As with every year there will be an meeting of all Annual Campers on the Sunday of the May long weekend\, just outside the main community building (the store).  Everyone is invited to come listen to what is going on at the Resort this summer\, and to participate in planning the events.  Bring your family\, some lawn chairs\, and also bring any ideas or topics that you would like to have discussed this year.  If you have a big issue\, please get it put on the agenda ahead of time by sending a message toevents@fawcettlakeresort.com.

DESCRIPTION:GOT JUNK… \nOne man junk is another’s mans treasure. \nWe are having a resort wide garage sale on June 21st from 10am to 2pm.  Anything goes…crafts\, furniture\, tools\, clothes\, kids toys\, etc ….Your stuff…your cash. \nIf you would like to sell some items at the garage sale then simply put a table near the road at your lot and add some balloons.  You will be responsible for disposing of your items that do not sell.  The council will be selling 50/50 tickets at various locations around the resort.  The draw for the 50/50 will be at the store at 2:30.  Proceeds will go towards supporting all events held at the lake. \nFor any further information you can message us on Facebook or email events@fawcettlakeresort.com \n

SUMMARY:Canada Day Fireworks
DESCRIPTION:The FLR Community Association is pleased to announce that there will be fireworks once again for Canada Day.  The show will begin just after dark on the night of June 30\, at the swimming beach.  Special thanks to Jamie Black of lot 37 for taking care of shopping for everything and then setting them off that night.  There is a coffee pot at the store for donations towards helping to pay for the show.  Please give generously. \nTo avoid traffic congestion\, there will be no vehicle or quad access to the area that night.  Please walk to the beach to see the show.

SUMMARY:Canada Day Parade and Events
DESCRIPTION:Calling all Canadians…Come out and help us celebrate Canada day by participating in the awesome events we have planned. There will be a parade\, kids games including a water balloon toss and a scavenger hunt and even a face painting booth.  For the adults we are having a 50/50 draw as well and a kissing booth….Just kidding about the kissing. \n  \nClick here for the parade registration form detailing the route and times and registration fees.  We would encourage everyone to register as soon as possible so we know how many prizes and ribbons we need to purchase. \nThe theme for decorating your entry is only limited to your own imagination.  Anything goes.  There will be prizes for quads\, bicycles and walkers/pedestrian.  Each child participant will receive a prize from the Community Association as well as a special treat donated from the Resort. \n50/50 tickets can be purchased throughout the day.  Tammy and Tanner Pappe (212)  will be selling the tickets throughout the day. The draw will take place at the fireworks.  All proceeds will be used for prizes and future community events. \nParade route is as follows: \nStart at top of Narrows Way.  Please gather at 11:30 so we can organize the lineup and assign numbers for judging. \nWe will travel down Narrows Way\, up Willow Crescent\, down Spruce Lane\, around Walleye Drive ending at the beach near the store. \n  \nWE NEED VOLUNTEER JUDGES for the parade.  If interested please email events@fawcettlakeresort.com \nDirectly after the parade in the general vicinity of the store and beach we will be conducting a water balloon toss\, scavenger hunt and have a kids face painting table.
