SUMMARY:Red & White Parade
DESCRIPTION:As you may have heard\, the traditional Red & White Parade will be held at the lake again this year as part of our Canada Celebrations.  Decorate your quads\, bikes\, side-by-sides … and lawn mowers\, to celebrate Canada’s birthday in style. \nHopefully\, we will be able to meet at the top of Pike Peak (the North end of the Resort) to get organized and start the parade off at 2.00pm.  The parade will tour the entire Resort and then come to an end after passing the Resort Store the second time.  There will be a parade leader there ready to start the tour once everyone is ready. \nWe are not quite yet out of the woods in regards to the Covid Cooties.  If you are not comfortable gathering with the other participants in the parade\, feel free to hang out a little east on Fern Trail where there is lots of extra room.  You will then be able to join in the parade as it starts\, while maintaining physical distancing.

SUMMARY:Canada Fireworks (and Beach Clean-up)
DESCRIPTION:The stars\, planets & flaming exploding balls of fun have finally aligned and we are able to celebrate Canada Day long weekend with a bang! \nEast Fawcett Lake Campers Club Fireworks display will be taking place at the main beach @11pm Friday July 2nd (in case of inclement weather Saturday will be the backup).  We currently have enough money in the fund for an approximately 15 minute show. If you would like to donate some extra funds please send any donations prior to June 27th before I purchase the fireworks & head up for the week. A little extra can go a long way to enhancing the display.  Etransfer: adam_burrough@hotmail.com Alternatively: Marilyn has set up the donation kettle (the “Coffee Pot”) in the store if you would rather donate cash. \nKeep in mind\, fireworks anywhere on the resort are prohibited (they are illegal without a permit) at all times other than this night at the Main Swimming Beach! If you have purchased fireworks you are welcome to fire them off on the beach before the main show\, or feel free to drop them off at lot #161 over the course of the week and we will be happy to add them to the excitement.  \nPlease try and maintain physical distancing as best as possible as we are not quite yet out of the woods in regards to the Covid Cooties. In addition please obey all barriers & road blocks as the area can get very busy and we need a perimeter for everyone’s safety.  ATV’s will not be allowed in the area during the show unless there are special circumstances. \nRemember guest fees go directly to making all these fun events possible and to thank Kathy or Melissa of the Campers Club Council for all their hard work. \nHelp is appreciated the following morning @11am for a beach cleanup as they can make quite the mess.  Bring a bucket and some gloves. \nCan’t wait to see all the Fawcett Lake Family together again   Have a safe & happy lake season everyone

DESCRIPTION:Hi everyone.  It’s that time of year again. Time to get out and have some fun with the kids\, and do some fishing at the\nFamily Day Ice Fishing Derby. \nThe plan is to get things underway with:\n–    Registration in the Picnic Shelter at the beach from 09:00 – 10:00am\n–    Fishing from 10:00am – 2:00pm\n–    Weiner Roast and Prizes from 2:00 – 4:00pm \nEntry for all participants is free\, but we ask that All entrants over the age of 18 donate a prize.  The prize donated can be any thing you choose.  This derby is all about having fun\, and spending some quality family time.  The prize categories are dependent on the amount of prizes that are donated.   \nThis event is put on by the Fawcett Lake Resort Campers Association (FLRCA) and is run by volunteers\, so please help out in anyway you can.  If you have any questions or suggestions about the event\, please contact events@fawcettlakeresort.com. \nPlease spread the word\, as the derby is open to anyone who would like to participate\, so tell your friends and family. SUMMARY:Family Day Ice Fishing Derby
DESCRIPTION:  \nHowdy campers! It’s that time of year again for getting out to fish the hardwater and spend some family time at the lake. The derby will be held at the picnic shelter down by the beach this year. To register and fish is completely free. The only thing that I ask is that everyone over the age of 18 must donate a prize. The prizes don’t have to be extravagant\, after all\, it’s more about having fun. \nRegistration will take place at the picnic shelter from 9-10 a.m.\nFishing will be from 10-2. Based on the honor system (and maybe a photo) due to Walleye restrictions\nWeigh in and prize distribution will be from 2-4 at the picnic shelter. \nI was thinking that a barbecue and 50/50 draw from 2-5 might be a good way to raise a bit of money for the FLRCA. I hope that we get a lot more people this year\, and continue to make this happen. Volunteers will be needed to help out\, so if you are willing and able\, please let me know. \nAll resort rules are in effect for the derby\, so we all need to clean up after ourselves and keep all machines off the beach area. \nPlease us know if you are coming so we have an idea of how many people are ready to have some fun.  You can contact Curt Tkachyk through Facebook or just send a message to events.coordinator@fawcettlakeresort.com.

DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Resort Store is sponsoring a Summer Scavenger Hunt. This event is open to everyone and it has a long list of challenges to do this summer. For children under 14 years of age\, each completed challenge will be rewarded with a candy from the store. This isn’t your typical kid’s game as some of these challenges take a little more effort and kids may even need an adult to help with some of the harder ones. \nTo play the game all you need is to download the Summer Scavenger Hunt Rules including list of challenges and helpful hints\, and to print the included map of the Resort. You can also join the FLRCA Summer Scavenger Hunt Facebook group. Send a Facebook message to Catherine Albach and she will invite you\, or just get invited by anyone else already in the group. \nYou don’t have to do the challenges in order and you have all summer to play\, so don’t try to accomplish all of the challenges on the same day. In fact\, don’t expect to accomplish all of the challenges at all\, unless you are a SERIOUS SCAVENGER. If you can\, find some partners and work together. Have Fun!!!

DESCRIPTION:Throughout the Resort \nWear your Red & White to celebrate to birth of our great country.  This is our national day to spend time with our family and friends at the barbeque and at the campfire.  Celebrations have also included a quad parade\, kid’s activities\, and fireworks but the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.  These events are all organized and run by volunteers\, so please consider being in charge of  one and making sure the day is celebrated in style.  Offers to volunteer and ideas for events can be submitted to events@fawcettlakeresort.com and then discussed at the Annual Meeting. \n

SUMMARY:Family Day Weekend Ice Fishing Derby
DESCRIPTION:Hey everyone\, it looks like there is a bit of interest in doing a little ice fishing derby this Sunday at the lake. It will be a shotgun start with pre-drilled holes because of Walleye restrictions. Eliminating the need for you to bring your fish in at the end of the day. Fish can be weighed and measured when caught and then released (if you choose to do so ). Entry for everyone will be free. the only thing that I ask is that everyone over the age of 18 must donate a prize. The catch is that you can’t pay for the prize you donate. it can be something that you already own\, or it can be donated by a third party. The value of the prize doesn’t matter as this derby is all about having some good old family fun and meeting some of your lake neighbors. You can donate anything from a fish hook to a vehicle. Prizes will be assigned a number\, and if you are eligible for a prize at the end of the day\, you will draw a number from a hat and get that corresponding prize. If anyone who has some ideas or willingness to help out would be greatly appreciated. Registration for the derby will be at the beach from 9:30 – 10:30. Then head out onto the ice to fish from 11:00- 4:00. There will be a bonfire and pot luck weenie roast at the big fire pit down by the beach after the derby. That is where we can find out who the luckiest angler of the day is. If you have any questions or concerns\, please contact events@fawcettlakeresort.com. Feel free to invite anyone you want. SUMMARY:Canada Fireworks
DESCRIPTION:With the constantly fluctuating winds\, the Canada Fireworks show was postponed this year.  However\, the supplies have already been purchased and we will try again to have the show on the Saturday of the August long weekend (weather permitting).  Come out and enjoy the show at dusk. You may want to bring a lawn chair because ATVs will not be permitted in the area. Volunteers are needed to help that night\, as well as to clean up the wrappings the next day. This is the only day of the year where fireworks are permitted at the Resort (permit will already be obtained) so if you want to set some off\, please bring them to the beach and have some fun. Then we will conclude with the main show. \n

SUMMARY:Canada Quad Parade
DESCRIPTION:Children of all ages\, from newborn to 99 are invited to participate in the Canada Quad Parade.  Dress up in your Red and White and decorate your ATVs to show your pride in our Country.  Participation is free for everyone\, but the competition for the best float is fierce (even though it is all just for fun).  If you don’t want to be in the parade\, be sure to come out and cheer it on as it passes by your lot.
